Murmura

Team chat · by Dusk

Team chat that moves as one.

Murmura puts rooms, direct messages, replies, calls and shared notes in one quiet, fast app. It reads like a log, not a stream of bubbles, and it runs on your own server.

01 · What it does

Everything a team says, in one place.

Rooms and direct messages

Open rooms anyone can join, private rooms, announcement rooms, and conversations with one person or a small group. Your list is sorted by what happened last, with a preview of each.

Replies that branch

Answer a message without burying the room. Replies hang off the message they belong to, open beside it, and can be marked resolved.

Calls

Start a voice call in any room or conversation. Turn on video, share your screen, or record the call and post it back to the room.

Shared notes

Markdown notes for a room, the whole workspace or just you, with version history, comments, wiki links and task lists.

For you

Mentions, replies you follow, everything unread and what you saved, in one place, with send later, reminders and tasks.

Bots and webhooks

Post from your other tools with a webhook URL, build bots with their own token, add slash commands, and send structured messages with buttons and forms.

Sign-in and safety

Single sign-on through your identity provider, two-factor authentication, guests who only see the rooms you choose, audit logs and message reports.

Search

Search messages, notes, rooms and people, with filters for who said it, where, when, and whether it had a file, a link or a pin.

02 · How it reads

A log, not a chat bubble.

Times sit in their own column, names in theirs, and a line in each person's colour runs down what they said. You can scan a busy room the way you scan a terminal. Replies open alongside, so the room keeps moving while you follow one thread.

03 · Your server

Yours to run.

Murmura is one Node process and a SQLite database per workspace. Put it on your own server, behind your own VPN if you like, and your messages live in your database.

04 · Apps

On every screen your team uses.

WebAny modern browser, installable as an app.
Mac and WindowsSigned desktop apps with dock and taskbar badges.
iPhone and iPadIn testing on TestFlight.
AndroidIn testing on Google Play.
