Tea Tree Oil
What is it?
Tea tree oil is an essential oil that has been extracted from the leaves of the Australian plant, Melaleuca Alternifolia. Native aboriginals have used tea tree as an antiseptic for many years to heal wounds, reduce inflammation and kill bacteria.
A natural ingredient that has vast medical research supporting it’s beneficial effects when used topically on the skin, tea tree oil is one of our champion ingredients.
It can be used on all skin types and works by penetrating and cleaning clogged pores and drying out blackheads and whiteheads, quickly diminishing any spots you may have.
Tea tree oil is a proven effective ingredient for fighting acne by killing the bacteria that cause our breakouts.
Balancing Oil Production
It doesn’t irritate our skin and is an excellent natural ingredient that gently removes the dirt and toxins from our pores and clears the build-up of serum to balance oily skin.
How can I Use it?
Ready to try out this all-natural ingredient? Here are some important tips...
As tea tree oil is such a strong essential oil it’s crucial to dilute oil with water to create a 50% strength formula, adding one drop of water for every one drop of oil. This will ensure that you don’t irritate your skin.
Use this formula as a toner after you have double-cleansed and always follow-up with a moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated.
As a natural, essential oil it can degrade and eventually lose its effectiveness. The best way to store your tea tree products is in a cool, dark place away from any sunlight.
